How do you receive IT Credentials?

I am currently attending University of Phoenix for a Bachelors in Information Technology with a concentration in software programming. While looking for jobs I saw that some jobs want you to have A+, SAP, and C+ credentials; plus a lot of other credentials. I only know what some of those things are. Realizing I needed to know more about these credentials the question came about; how do I get these credentials? Can anyone help me? Is University of Phoenix a suitable school for this field?
